WordPress…A Newbie’s experience. (and other thots)

WordPress August 20th, 2007

I’m beginning to like WordPress. I’ve been scouring the net for WordPress blogs and other web related technologies such as Ajax, PHP, and Ruby on Rails. I’ve had experience working with Ruby. I coded a small application using Ruby in a Programming Languages Course at university. It was fun working with Ruby. I had to go through a small ‘paradigm’ shift when I was working with the language. The flexibility that is inbuilt with the language is amazing. I have to check whether or not I still have the doc that I did for Ruby (It’s about the comparison with other languages). It might be useful to the community. I’ll look it up and upload it.

It was a team project and we built this simple online code commenting system. I call it as such for lack of better description. It’s much like a very early development of a Code Versioning System. It was meant to illustrate the application of Ruby as a programming language. It was a fun experience. Thank goodness it was a team project.I certainly appreciated that as that semester I was buried up to my neck in school work. My pals were great. I learnt a lot from them as they have far more experience in programming than me (as in actual work experience and not course based experience).

That’s all I have to share today. If there any stragglers in my blog. Please comment. Would appreciate your feedback.
